I love Mac'n'Cheese and have tried several different recipes and variations. After seeing an episode of Everyday Italian on Food Network, I came up with this variation on Mac'n'Cheese. It's quick, easy, and full of flavor.
- 12 ounces elbow macaroni (or desired pasta)
- 3 cups Kraft Touch of Philly Triple Cheddar Cheese
- 1 cup light sour cream
- 1/2 cup reserved pasta water
- 1/4 cup minced fresh herbs (I used parsley, basil, and oregano)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- fresh ground pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup Italian style bread crumbs or crushed cheese crackers (like Cheez-Its)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375˚F. Prepare the pasta according to the package directions; cook to al dente.
- Meanwhile, combine cheese, sour cream, herbs, pepper, and garlic in a large bowl. Add pasta and reserved water directly from the pan to the cheese mixture. Stir together until evenly combined.
- Coat a 2-qt. casserole dish with butter or non-stick spray. Pour pasta into it and sprinkle with bread or cracker crumbs. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes.
