Sweet and Spicy Pork Chops

I had gotten some beautiful thick cut pork chops from the store the other day and wanted to do something delicious with them. I came across a recipe for Sweet and Spicy Pork Chops and decided that was the way to go. I wasn't disappointed, they were yummy in my tummy (and the kids seemed to think so as well).
  • 6 boneless sirloin pork chops, 1" thick
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup dijon mustard (Grey Poupon is a gluten-free option for this)
  • 1-2 teaspoons jalapeno hot sauce
Directions:
  1. Get grill going. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, onion, chili powder, garlic powder and mustard.
  2. Sprinkle both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper. Place on the heated grill. Leave for 4-5 minutes.
  3. Brush the top side of the pork chops with your sauce, turn pork chops over, and brush on the other side. Cook for another 5-6 minutes, or till cooked through. Now remember that sirloin chops don't have a lot of fat so be careful not to overcook.
Enjoy with some grilled green beans and carrots, and wild or brown rice (I use a "minute" style rice so that everything is done at about the same time).
